There's no need to retrofit your reloader until/unless these become unavailable. Replacing with the Hornady fingers is a lot less work.JMHO but I would not lump the adjustable charge bar and the Spindex kit together as "upgrades." The Spindex is designed and produced by Mec. I can't conceive of anyone that had the newer design wishing to go back to the old. The adjustable charge bar is a device made by another company that was designed by another company to fit a mec.Once you determine the powder to use, you can use the MEC Bushing Chart to decide what Bushing will drop the amount of powder closest to the exact volume you need. I've loaded the Lee 1 oz Slug, but with Remington STS/ NITRO hulls, and Hodgdon HS-6 in. 36 grains. The bushing was #30 for a drop of 35 grains of HS-6. /.

Mec offers a replacement - revamped system. At a nominal cost that looks more robust than the old wad guide.
