Posted February 27, 2015 at 11:50 PM. I carry a Gen 4 30. Overall width is the same. The slide is thinner on the 30S, but the widest part is the frame and they are the same width for both. I went with the 30 because the extra weight in the slide makes the recoil more managable and followup shots quicker. The 30s is 4oz lighter.

Ok guys, thanks for the help. I broke down and picked up the 30S and then proceeded to put 200 rounds through it. Gonna have to get used to the 'Glock Knuckle' on my middle finger. I'm cursed with this every time I shoot Glock subcompacts (G26, G43 and now the G30S). Other than that, hand is a bit sore (call me a wimp), but I was dead-on accurate.
Only difference was the G30SF is a tad shorter by about 1/4 ... Hand timed at 2.5sec for 10 shots on the G19 (0.25sec/shot), and 2.27sec for 9 shots on the G30 (0.25 sec/shot). Call it a draw. I am decently impressed by both the speed and control on the G30. Must be his massively developed forearms!

I recently bought a HK 45c to replace the Glock for carry, it is slimmer and I hope it conceals better as soon as I get a holster (VM II on order). The G30 was pretty beefy to carry iwb but is super accurate. Both are soft shooters. The trigger on the 45c sucks but an apex alum trigger kit (80bucks) fixed that. Glock replacement sights will cost you the same. So it is kind of a wash the 45c is a nicer feel in the hand, but I always end up back carrying a glock. I think that is just me though.The 26 is a noticable amount smaller than a 30S, so naturally it will conceal better/easier. I have a Gen4 30 and my Gen4 27 carries a lot nicer.
