So I decided to look at replacing the cougar which is my current bedside gun with a gun more similar to a shield that can also hold a light and 15+ rounds of 9mm while having a thinner and better feeling grip than a cougar.

The FN 509 is a normal size with a 17-round magazine, but the MRD( compact-length) variant of the gun holds a 15-round magazine. HK VP9 vs Glock 19 Quality. The HK VP9 definitely seems to be a higher-quality pistol than the Glock 19. In my opinion, it is probably 10-percent higher in quality than the Glock 19 just from feel alone. Again, this is all opinion and there might not be an actual quality difference. It does seem and feel to be a high-quality handgun comparatively.

Cz wont, you will pay at minimum for shipping and anything else they deem your fault. Maybe there is a dept out there that uses the p10c, but I know many have used and are still using MnP. Smith has always served LE. Don't be discouraged if you like the CZ it is a little more accurate then the 2.0. The Smith and Wesson M&P Shield is a handful. It has a fair amount of recoil and the same fairly small gun. Whereas the GLOCK 19 is a much larger gun and it can soak up that recoil a little more. With a lot of guns, sometimes if they have more muzzle flip. That means that their recoil is a little less violent.

My suggestion would be to rent each and put some rounds through them to see what you prefer. At least handle each and see which you like the best. My personal choice would be the FN 509 or a CZ P10C. I've owned a VP9 in the past as well and it worked fine, just preferred my 509T in the end.
