Boat part number 1070410 is a new 24' foot x 27" diameter center pontoon log tube with lifting strakes. The long bracket in the back measures approximately 17 1/2" L, followed by a 8 7/8". Then there is (1) 3" wide bracket, followed by a 17 5/8" space. Then there is (1) 17 1/2" wide bracket, followed by a 13 1/2" space. The center toon is 26' long (including integral transom) and is 32" wide x 25" high. The outer toons have full length inboard lifting strakes and the center toon has lifting strakes for about the first 16'. My goal is to use these to construct a reasonably "fast" (~25 mph) tiny house boat with an 8'6" beam.Center-consoles are good too, but maybe not so friendly for families. And you certainly won't get as much space in the same length boat. However, this is all dependent on the water you're in. Pontoons are meant for calm water. Even on big lakes on a stormy day, it can get hairy.If needed you could add a jack plate to the motor pod to lower the motor, or try moving the third toon in front of the other two slightly. It might not teeter, but I think the middle log would always be so deep in the water that it would slow you down a lot. If the middle log floated the middle more than the outer logs float the sides, it would create some bad stress too.
