You can actually make a very solid melee Sorcerer with the Abyssal Bloodline who would be a very good summomer, however. Might need to go Eldritch Knight for extra BAB, but it'll work fine if you focus on getting natural attacks. I personally really like Clerics, Paladins and Inquisitors as a Tiefling, though.

If you want to deal heavy damage in kingmaker you want power attack and you want sneak attack. A 2 handed weapon gets 1.5 times strength modifier damage while power attack is a -1/+3 with a 2 handed weapon.
