Ok guys, I'm looking to do a mod to my Hawk Helium sticks. I'm debating between using an 8mm static rope or using the rope cam cleats, I really favor the latter even though it's more expensive. ... FYI - If you use a Harken 150 or Schaffer 70-17 you will need at least 2.25" hardware to mount through a Hawk Helium stick.

The Heliums have 2 pegs on each step, so to speak, One on each side. so 6 pegs on each climbing stick. If you don't own sticks now I would highly recommend a style with a rope and cinch cam. No straps with buckles clinking around while walking or setting up.Luckily or unluckily, I still have a tag to use so I’ll be hunting with the Hawk Helium HSP tonight for its maiden voyage. Couple of things to note after install, it’s a little wobbly on top of the helium 30’ stick. The slide pins that come with should be replaced with longer screws. Got my 20” Hawk Helium sticks today. Love the sticks, but got a few changes to make on them. Obviously got to get the sliders. (1)-3 step and (2) double steps. Got to paint( camo) them, and diffinently going to change the versa button to the line wolf and get some ropes. Not liking the versa straps. lol white on a tree.

I cut pieces of bicycle inner tube and pulled over the metal buckles.
