We took the ferry from Bolivar Peninsula over to Galveston Island. Great experience, though I had to remain in car w/my dog. My husband did take a nice video of the views. Longer wait as we had our camper in tow & it happened to be spring break in TX. (mid March 2022)

The ferry is the most efficient way to get between Galveston and High Island and since we were staying in one location and birding in the other, we took the ferry several times. Even if you don't have to get between the two locations, the ferry is a fun 30 minute trip if you don't have a chance to be out on the water much.

Medical passes. I sat in line an hour and half on Saturday of the Galveston Bike Rally. There were 20 plus cars who just drove up and went directly on the ferry with permits. Now you can’t tell me those medical permits were used to see a doctor on the Saturday when thousands were in Galveston for the bike rally.
