The benefit of Ring Alarm is that it communicates on its own (Z-Wave) with all the sensors and HomeKit is only used to control the Alarm State as well to use Ring Sensors as a trigger for other HomeKit equipment. I use HOOBs to use the ring alarm with HomeKit. It works very well. You can use ring sensors to trigger automations and you get priority notifications in the home app when your alarm is triggered. I also use the alarm status (armed / disarmed) to set my thermostats. Highly recommended
