However, if you are in Neutral, and the clutch is spinning fast enough to engage it, then yes it will turn the belt. Ideally, the belt should NOT be turning at idle. The rollers are bad New clutch for this model is a thousand dollars. A roller kit is about 300 dollars. Complete new clutches for other models are about 150 dollars.

2021 XUV 835M clutch issues. This 835 is my daily workhorse. It already has 10,000+ mi & 500+ hrs. At approx 8500 mi I began to get a shudder on takeoff. I replaced the drive belt, which restored my original top speed, but it did not fix the shudder. I drove it another month then ordered a new primary clutch (not a JD) and replaced it yesterday.

Second, it does not what to come out of gear when it's running and wants to lunge forward if you take your foot off the brake. It is likely coming from one of the two clutches, so you got a 50% chance of getting it right the first time. Good luck and post the resolution with pictures if possible.
