A 6.0L iron motor will handle 1000 pretty easy, we ran an iron 6.0 for a few years back before we started using the erl stuff and it made 1500+ and was reliable,of coarse it was hard filled,dry sumped, had a girdle and was assembled by billy briggs. I haven't read much of snapped axles, diff, or bent rods and theres people on apr stg3 (gt28) with stock internals. dsg has no weak links imo, its good out the box for +400tq.

A two-bolt main, cast crank bottom end, properly machined and assembled would be good for at least 550-600 hp. 6-6300 rpm limit. 4 bolt mains and a steel crank can handle 700hp and 7200 rpm. If you want something reasonably reliable for a modded car, at 600+hp, you might as well build the engine. Stroker kits help spool big turbos but won't rev as high.The bottom end alone is several grand in parts. 300WHP can be made with the torque that ALH's are already putting down. 400ft-lbs @ 4000 rpm your at 300WHP so it's not that you need to make more torque you just need enough fuel and air to hold it into the upper range.Tuning is key and keeping rail pressure in check to make power.
