Uchigatana & Manslayer. Making it's return for Dark Souls 2 is the fan favorite Katana from Dark Souls 1; however it has lost its bleed aux effect that it had previously. The Uchigatana requires 10 Str and 16 Dex to one-hand, and comes in at 5.0 weight; it can be bought at Steady Hand McDuff for 5,000 souls.

If not, then infusion will increase your dmg. It's not like dark souls where elemental weapons reduced dmg because of how armor works. Infusions will it almost all cases increase your dmg output. The only reason you should be using a +10 normal is so you can resin it. Last edited by Panic Fire ; May 3, 2014 @ 2:43am.Nov 28, 2022 · Swordsman is hands down the best starting class in DS2. The best build for fighting him is naked with a smelter hammer or something that hits HARD with pure physical damage, and a lot of patience. Beat the spoopy spider boss in Brightstone Cove twice and get either the Crystal Soul Spear or preferably the Moonlight Greatsword (if you like greatswords, it's really good and your best option as a sorcerer). Remember to level Adaptability. Don't worry about armor, wear whatever looks good. 6.And you shouldn't be too concerned with leveling -- meaning you could make a lot of use of Great Resonant Soul. Mix with some of the AoE spells and you're good. Another very simple build makes use of high value sorceries, the Staff of Wisdom and Unleash Magic. At least 58 INT (you don't want to spice Unleash Magic).I'm personally not recommending you to start new game trying to play as pyromancer. Because you should upgrade your Pyromancy Flame (+10) first and then you can play easily. Just gain some soul levels (100-120 should be good) and loot 10 fire seeds to upgrade Pyromancy Flame before building your pyro class. 6.Your final build should look something like this: Vig 50 End 30 (at least) Vit 10 if using Third Dragon or 14 if not. Str 40 Dex 12 (more if you find other weapons you like) Adp/Att (enough to get to 100 Agility) Rings are Blades +1 or +2, Flynn, Old Leo and a 4th of your choice (Chloranthy, Third Dragon, Life +3 are all good choices).Ricard's Rapier with a poison upgrade recks a lot of PVE enemies pretty hard. The Gyrm Axe is both the slowest and hardest hitting. The Bandit Axe has no reach and is good in spite of this. I don't care for the moveset of most of the hammers but they're all fine. My personal favorite is the Craftsman's Hammer and it has easily the best moveset in the class. The only strength spear is the Gargoyle Bident.9. Drangleic Shield. The Drangleic Shield might be the earliest and easiest shield to get, with 100% physical damage reduction. It’s very useful at the start, when most of the enemies you’ll come across only use physical attacks. Later on it gets outclassed by a couple other standard shields, and most greatshields.Originally posted by Harrison Ford: Okay, here's your OP PvE build: Step 1: Get Rapier. Section 1: Starting Class Basics. The cleric starting class already comes with a sacred chime and the mace weapon, both of which will come extremely handy in the first few areas of the game. As a general rule, the faster I can create a good melee-only character, the better. I don't like all that magicky stuff. I always start with Swordsman because of the high Dex Stat when doing melee builds.

I personally use a Lightning infused Priest Chime for Miracles, arguably second only to the Dragon Chime, but with the huge benefit of being obtainable much earlier on. As for weapons, probably anything with do, this is DS2 after all, where just getting the base stats for a weapon and raising the infusion stat works perfectly.

Using a hex build the only barrier to completing a no death run is your own stupidity. I know because I've done it. The real question is, why are you doing the run. If it's for challenge sake then fine, but in all honesty a hex run is NOT challenging. If it's just for the ring then unless you're gonna pvp a shit ton it's pointless.

Pump Vigor, best stat in the game by miles. Scaling is pretty weak. No need for magic. Decent stamina pool and some Adp to not have crippled roll iframes (get Agility to 88 or 92 asap, pump it to 96 towards the midgame, finish it off at 99 or 105; it translates to about 25-33 Adp). ... Chaos blade does get higher AR, but it requires dragon ...It needs 1.5 times the normal physical (str/dex) requirements of the weapon, so for the Smelter Greatsword it would be 60 strength, 15 dex. Red iron twinblades is my favorite weapon. Scales only on STR, hits hard, good against groups and the triple hit light attack is great for breaking poise. Requires 20 DEX though.Best long term (and perhaps short tern as well) is Explorer IMO. It has the highest starting Agility so it can get the best roll the fastest. It is the very middle of the pack for starting HP. It has 6/6 for STR/DEX and 5/5 for INT/FTH, a total of 22 points spend in damage dealing stats. The greatsword +10 (duh) and a drangleic shield, for armor I'm using the aurous set until I get my vit high enough to use eitehr havel or drangleic. Stats is focused on getting that 50 STR, enough END to swing at least 4 times (currently at 20) and VIT to carry your equipment and avoid fat rolls. I guess VGR is somewhat important too tho.Hybrid with buffs can work but aim more for, as others suggest, quality. If you plan on soloing all the current DLCs, consider a good heavy weapon that can be used for crowd control as well (Greatsword is best sword. I also really enjoyed pancaking shit with a Sacred Chime Hammer) and a faster/solid secondary weapon.Originally posted by Harrison Ford: Okay, here's your OP PvE build: Step 1: Get Rapier. And from the 8 that exist about half of them are total garbage. At the very bottom of the trash heap, sits the Infantry Axe. Compared to other axes, its damage is bad, its scaling is average, and everything else is unremarkable.
