I'd like to know whether there is anything I should ask in particular, or anything I should look out for after the service in terms of performance, noise, etc? Apr 22, 2024 · Replace PCV valve. Replace spark plugs every 100k, NGK Laser Iridium. Replace valve cover gaskets, grommets and spark plug tube seals. Valve adjustment if never done. Inspect for vacuum leaks. Replace all old original O2 sensors (NTK or Denso only) Replace EGR valve (OEM or SMP not T series) I recommend some silicone grease (like Sil-Glyde or 3M silicone Paste) to help them into place. PS: Set your exhaust valves on the looser of the two settings. These Honda V6's usually wear the exhaust valveseats over time which makes the clearance get tighter as time goes by. The colloquial "standard" seems to be to wait until there is noticeable or excessive valve train noises. Meanwhile exhaust valves tend to stretch faster than there's wear, so get quieter before they get noisier. Until they start to burn, and at the same time risk cam damage. My engine is really quiet, always has been.

Figure ~4hrs tops to do this if you’re taking your time. I could probably do it in two hours as I’ve done a couple Honda valve jobs.Honda recommends the valves being adjusted every 100-105k. If a valve gets tight you are going to burn it (basically a hole will form) and cause some expensive repairs to remove the cylinder head and install new valve(s). Can’t say I’ve seen a lot of any Honda V6 have this issue but I’ve seen a lot of the inline 4s burn valves.
