I also had a faulty one last month that showed an obvious line within the correct time frame but faded to nothing after an hour. Second frer using the same.fmu sample was bfn so was not a chemical. They're sadly not perfect.

The warning to not pull them apart is because when people do, they see the colourless evap line and think it is something. If there is colour in it, especially on a FRER, I would say it is the very early beginings of a BFP. I may be wrong of course, but I'm sorry to say that we may be losing you from this part of the forum.

If the second line does not glow, however faint the line may be, it is a strong possibility that it is either too early/too faint of a line, or, most likely, an indent or an evap. If you don't see a pink line, then you count it as negative, wait and test again a day or two later. The top pic is the BFN I had this morning, at 8 dpo and the bottom is the other FRER I took 3 days ago. The evap one is 5 dpo, which is impossible to be positive. And when I put it up to the light it is totally see through.I tested (12DPO, I think) with SMU on a FRER. Immediately a colorless line showed up. Super super faint but you can see a 2nd line but no color. I was out…I used FRER's for years when ttc and never got any kind of line when it was negative. If you were using a cheapo test then, yes, they have evap lines all the time. Go to target and buy up all the FRER's. Take a test tonight. Use a cup to collect your urine.
