Once i got the actual keel guard off, there was alot of leftover glue/adhesive on the hull. I soaked the whole thing with acetone and gently scraped with a plastic scraper. Once i got the bulk off i soaked a rag with acetone and rubbed most of the rest off. Heat gun and plenty of adult beverages.

For the price that you paid for the cover, I would ask the manufacturer of the cover what will remove the color from your boat's finish.

The Penn 309 used to be the standard for bay trolling. Most guys used 30 lb mono in spring / summer - then put on 30lb Monel for late fall / winter. Brandon, I owned a 23 Sea Ox in 1981 , 1982 time frame. Had a 235 Evinrude on it. Fished offshore with it and in the Bay! Owned a 23 Seacraft after that! The Sea Ox is very well built, very solid! It is not really a rough weather boat and had a tendency to pound in any real seas.
