The Race Face T2 Tailgate pad uses similar materials compared to most tailgate pads on the market. PVC Tarpaulin is used on the outside of the pad while the inside is composed entirely of a micro-brushed lining. The T2 is fastened to the tailgate by 4 straps threaded through standard plastic adjusters.

Anyone else worried about the thickness of the padding. Looks pretty thin but it’s hard to tell from the photos. I have a raceface pad that works really well, is reallly well padded, and holds 5 bikes. That said I like the way the Rivian pad looks and fits so am on the fence for sure.

The pads don't fit very well and unless someone designs a Rivian specific one I don't think any pad will be that great. The tailgate is too thick and the middle tailgate panel interferes as shown in the pics above. Sep 23, 2023 · After getting a couple of small things fixed at the El Segundo SC, I rolled by the Rivian Space in Venice. It turns out they have a small gear shop in there. So I grabbed a few things, and asked about the tailgate pad (fully expecting a “No, sorry” response). I was very pleasantly surprised when the friendly person there said yes.
