Rangers in PF2 are martial characters, no inbuilt casting anymore. Instead they focus on their Hunt Prey action that designates their target and gives them a bonus depending on what "edge" you pick at character creation. I've seen successful bow rangers and melee rangers thus far, so the class is very versatile.
