Dec 31, 2019 · 2017 Rebel 4x4 5.7 with 39k. I was driving home on a full tank and got the warning ding. Gas gauge showed 0 til empty and the gas light itself was blinking. CEL showed up today, haven't checked it yet but it's pretty clear what the issue is, generally speaking. Gauge will occasionally go back to full during the drive.
By no means am I an expert. My fuel level sensor crapped out around 50k miles on my 2014 1500. I didn't actually check the numerical code, my truck just flashed on the dash "Fuel sensor failure" and it stopped reading on the gauge.
