I did end up replacing one of the small rubber fuel hoses during install and used the same procedures i as would changing a fuel filter.P0045 is a turbo solenoid circuit code. Disconnect the solenoid and put a test lamp across the solenoid connector when the engine coolant temp is colder than 65C, then start the engine and let it warm up to 74C. When the engine coolant reaches approximately 74C the ECM will initiate a TC Learn and the test lamp will flash ON and OFF.

If the ECM detects a problem in the FRP regulator circuit, it will set a DTC (diagnostic trouble code), P0090 Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) Regulator Control Circuit Malfunction, and illuminate the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp). Note: Open Circuit means that a component or sensor in a system is deprived of the reference voltage it needs to work.This harness chaffing could cause shorting of any number of circuits to ground. Cranks, no start. I isolated it to the wiring harness, and sure enough there was a spot where a metal bracket had worn through the wiring harness.

I checked wires from FPR back to ecm and no breaks or knicks. Key on I’m seeing 2.63vdc at FPR. I backprobed at the ECM and found the same 2.63vdc. This is also something that is not very common on these Duramax engines but it happens more often than an ECM issue. The most common problem on the Duramax is the EGR. That and head gasket issues. As far as electrical issues, this is really the only other one I know of. ECM issues are not common at all.
