The ecodiesel runs fine and the original MOPAR DEF is mixed with 5 gallons of fresh Peak BlueDEF. The EcoDiesel is perfect as a daily driver and for light to moderate towing needs. The Cummins is perfect for heavier towing needs, but not as a daily driver. I have a need for both trucks, so I'm not torn between the 1500 and 2500/3500. Before COVID, you could find really good deals on Ram 1500 EcoDiesel trucks.

The ecodiesel was placed into the 1/2 ton platforms for one reason, fuel economy. That's it. GM put the 350 olds into their cars and pickups to boost fuel mileage and it worked. Same with the 6.2 and 6.5 engines in the 1/2 ton platforms.My understanding is that owning of an ecodiesel could get very expensive and frustrating. I would strongly consider solid extended warranty. Good day, A FASS kit was installed on 2016 RAM EcoDiesel and it never worked properly. FASS did replace the electric motor on the FASS pump. Now the CP4 injection pump is suspect for failure.
