The folks at Knight rifles ( 866-518-4181) said that the original hammer with the conical pointed firing pin is ok to use with the #11 and musket caps.

I have a knight wolverine and it has been a great gun. It's an older one and I'm guessing it was built around 1997 or so, but it worked great. It was an inline with a number 11 percussion cap ignition originally, and I bought the conversion kit for it so I could shoot 209 primers. My LK-93 and my son's 209 Wolverine are of similar design as the MK85. I would spend the extra money and convert. The 209 gives you a hotter ignition, less chance for a miss fire. I have converted my Wolverine from cap to 209. I would not look back. The $80 is high as mentioned above check around you should be able to get it around $40 to $50 for the conversion kit.
